I heard Pastor Steven Furtick<1> say in one of his sermons that “great opportunities begin with simple obedience.” This is taught in Jesus’ Parable of the Talents in the book of Matthew when the master said to the servant, ’Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (Matthew 25:21, NIV translation). Read the full parable here.
What am I doing with the things God has entrusted me with? Am I faithful in the “small” things? Do I have simple obedience?
I need to start focusing on being obedient and faithful with the things God has already blessed me with. Then I can expect great opportunities from the Lord.
