An honest [person] cannot dismiss a source of this kind

April 30, 2008

Christianity is not based on “blind” faith alone.  The bible has been proven to be historically accurate.  Here is an awesome quote I came across from a biblical scholar:

“There exists no document from the ancient world witnessed by so excellent a set of textual and historical testimonies, and offering so superb an array of historical data on which an intelligent decision may be made. An honest [person] cannot dismiss a source of this kind. Skepticism regarding the historical credentials of Christianity is based upon an irrational bias.”

Professor at Regent College

Satisfy your intellect and then see what God has in store for you.  Christianity is full of historical credentials.

Check out my dad’s new blog

April 12, 2008

My dad started a blog on sex issues facing our teens today.  As a university professor for many years, he has been teaching medical students, psychology students, and psychiatry trainees on how they can help teens with sexual issues.  If you want straight talk and straight facts from a real expert who really cares about what’s best for you…then check it out at Teen Sex Today

About entry from my dad at Teen Sex Today

Why my blog on teen sex? As a doctor, I’ve talked to way too many teens who are downright angry at the rotten sex advice they’ve heard from adults. Hey, most adults give teens hardly any helpful information about sex in the first place. And then when so-called “experts” step forward to give sex advice, much of it is just flat wrong! Illogical and unscientific sex information can be found all over the Internet, on TV and radio, and even school books. Not only is this totally unfair, but I’ve had teen patients who have been physically and emotionally damaged by following the misleading advice from adults that teens expect to have the right answer.

Teens deserve better! You want straight talk and straight facts from a real expert who really cares about what’s best for you. How can I help? Not only have I successfully raised a bunch of teenagers into adulthood as a father, but as a clinical psychologist, I’ve spent many years counseling teenagers about their questions about sex. And as a university professor for many years, I’ve been teaching medical students, psychology students, and psychiatry trainees on how they can help teens with sexual issues. Not only that, but I’ve written dozens of psychology articles and many books dealing with teen sex. For example, I’m nationally recognized as the editor of the Handbook on Child and Adolescent Sexual Problems. And I’ve given over 100 invited lectures on teen sex topics in universities in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. So no matter how common or “off the wall” you might think your question is about teen sex, I’ve probably already studied the topic.

On this blog, I’ll write about sex topics I’ve heard teens ask me about.  The blog will be updated weekly.  But I’d like to answer your questions too.  E-mail your questions to: teensextoday@ProfessorGeorge.com or just write to me on my blog.  If we post your question, we will keep it anonymous.  Count on me to be logical, ethical, and scientific in my answers. And count on me to debunk the myths and the illogical, unscientific so-called “sex advice” that shows up for teens in other places in the media. Hey, I’m on your side–I want what’s best for your life, now and forever!
